1398 : THE RACE ISSUE

WHILE having breakfast at the samaratan house this morning I had another discussion with the man I'll call the race guy because everything comes out of his mouth is about race. was telling him about a news report of a black man who was breaking into cars when one of the neighbors sic'd his pit bull on the guy, the police had to shoot the dog to keep the canine from killing the brother, quess what race guy's answer was? I betcha P.E.T.A. is gonna be angry about that! thats(people for the ehtical treatment of animals)and then proceeded to tell me a joke, "whats the difference between a dead dog laying in the highway and a dead black man"? the dead dog has skid marks in front of him! but thats not all, he then tells me about a succesfull black woman from the hood who gets an education a good job moves to the suburbs of yonkers new york buys a home and the next day the a burnt cross is in her yard, because "she forgot who she was" I ask him what would be remembering who you are? staying in the hood not getting an education having a lot of babies out of wedlock by different fathers? is that remembering who you are? I believe one of the biggest problems in the black community is self-hatred, when they look in the mirror they don't like what they see therefore they don't like another one when they see him. racism! racism! thats all some of us talk about! its just an excuse and its been that way for a long time. I told him that I believe even if she was forced to move that she would not have to move to some ghetto that she would thrive and find another nice place to live and continue to be a sucess. thats the way you handle those situations you don't lay around moaning and whining about racism you move on get up and keep going!
