THE HAWK!

WHILE sitting at the mid-town train station eating some great ice-cream on Saturday I witness something that has bothered me ever since,  and I don't know why.  I'm sitting there girl-watching when this big black hawk swoops down on this nice family of birds (male-female- and their babies) and snatches one of the babies and takes off with the mother and father in hot pursuit.  it was really dramatic to watch it live.  and i don't know why i can't get it out of mind.  just the picture of this big black muscular hawk taking off with this baby chick in its mouth stays with me, and the parents flying behind the hawk trying to get the baby chick back, it was amazing.  I don't know whether they were successful in getting  their baby back but they were really trying. I thought about how the same thing is happening to the American family especially the black American family where over 70% of babies are born out of wedlock,  70%!  what happened! low morals for one thing, we've become people who'll do anything, say anything, wear anything, act any kind of way, no restraint at all. and these are the people always talking about god. the hawk has raided the black family nest except in this case he can take his time and eat his prey at the nest site cause nobody's home .
