A HAND TO GUIDE ME

THATS the book by DENZEL WASHINGTON that i just finished, its about legends and leaders celebrating the people that shaped their lives, mainly the parents.  man this was a good book i shed a few tears when i read some of the stories.   What the book tells us is that our childhood shapes our lives it is who we become it defines us.  JAMES BALDWIN says "childern have never been very good at listening to their elders, but they have never failed to imitate them"  I thank GOD for my upbringing and my parents, we were so fortunate and i realize that now more than ever.   I really liked what GEORGE STEINBRENNER said about his parents, also what judge HATCHETT said about her father also the newspaper reporter who decided he wanted to become a marine officer.  I enjoyed all the inspiring stories.  My greatest regret in life is not having a hand in raising my 2 children its a pain that i feel everyday and it hurts. my next book is called 'the other Wes moore'
