THE WRONG HEROES
WHY? i wonder in the black community do we celebrate black criminals. WHY? i just don't understand it. from O.J. to M.J. to TROY DAVIS, to the man in PHILADELPHIA accused of killing a cop, and to TOOKIE WILLIAMS in CALIFORNIA it seems that ours heroes are thugs and accused and convicted murderers, WHY? I remember while living in LOS ANGELES in the mid-90's when convicted killer TOOKIE WILLIAMS was schedule to die, the head of the N.A.A.C.P. rode out to the west coast on a private jet trying to stop his execution! there were so many black celebrities speaking on behalf of this man i can't even start to name em, some of the biggest names in show business and politics. here was a man convicted of killing 4 people, a 7-11 clerk, who he shot execution style in the back, then he kills 3 more people during a robbery at a motel. and he's a hero? WHAT!! and that's not the worst thing that he did , not even close!! this thug started a street gang (the crips) who's responsible for the killing of thousands of black men, just during the period that i was living in LOS ANGELES. THOUSANDS. so why are these people celebrated? i just don't understand it. here at school they have posted these free TROY DAVIS posters all around as if its a given that we oppose his execution, I DON'T!
